Attorney Nicholas J. LaFountain has been representing clients in both litigation and negotiations since 2004. His experience, knowledge of the law, and familiarity with the court system allow him to achieve favorable results both inside and outside of the court room.

Attorney LaFountain primarily focuses on divorce and family law matters. As an experienced divorce lawyer, Attorney LaFountain understands that divorce and family law cases involve much more than dividing property, or when each side has parenting time with the children. The emotional toll of a dissolving marriage can be devastating to both the parties and their children. Attorney LaFountain keeps that in mind at all steps, to better help resolve the matter at hand, and to try minimizing post-divorce conflicts once the case is resolved.

In order to resolve cases, a trial is sometimes necessary. Attorney LaFountain has extensive experience in the courtroom going back to 2004 and is prepared to litigate when necessary. But most cases will not require a full trial and can be resolved via negotiations, even if a case begins as contested matter. Attorney LaFountain has decades of experience negotiating resolutions, and he was trained to mediate cases before he became a lawyer. He also offers mediation to couples getting divorced, and to other parties involved in family law cases.

Attorney LaFountain also still accepts and enjoys working on other types of cases beyond divorce / family law. He has experience representing clients in personal injury cases, landlord matters, and other civil litigation cases. These include cases that involve auto accidents; slip and falls; injuries caused by third parties; contract disputes; partnership and other business disputes; and property disputes.

In all types of legal matters, Attorney LaFountain firmly believes in providing his clients with an informed analysis, options, and a cost-effective approach. Clients are always kept informed on options and anticipated costs, and clients are welcome and encouraged to participate when strategizing.

Outside of work, Attorney LaFountain spends most of his free time with his family and volunteering in the local community. His current volunteer work includes coaching youth sports, such as football, basketball, and baseball. In prior years he served on a local school board and as a scout leader as well.
